The Don’t Go Broke (DGB) Weight Loss Plan is not a revolution in weight loss. I have not found a miracle cure in the jungles of Africa. This weight loss plan will not help you to lose 30 pounds a month. It will not turn you into Halle Berry or Brad Pitt.
The DGB Weight Loss Plan is just a different way of looking at things. I used my knowledge as a physician to study weight loss, weight loss literature, and the cost of weight loss. I studied what worked for me and numerous other successful long-term losers. I also studied what did not work for most people including myself. I used all the knowledge I gathered to create The Don’t Go Broke Weight Loss Program.
The DGB Weight Loss Plan is different from most weight loss programs in three ways:
- Its foundation is in behavior change.
- It encourages slow weight loss.
- It does not require a huge financial investment to be successful.
Behavior Change
Most weight loss programs teach you how to eat less and/or move more. That makes sense because that is how you lose weight. However, simply telling an overweight person to eat less or move more is similar to telling a smoker to stop smoking. It is not going to work.
Smoking cessation, calorie reduction, and exercise all involve changing behavior. You have to stop doing a bad thing and start doing a better thing. It sounds simple, but it is not. Changing a behavior is very difficult, especially a behavior that developed over many years.
Temporary Changes Lead To Temporary Weight Loss
Most of the weight loss programs attempt to have you change a lifelong behavior overnight. It just does not happen that way. Weight loss is easy to understand, but difficult to execute. It is difficult to change behavior, but it is not impossible.
Most people can lose weight easily. The problem is permanent weight loss, or life long change. We can all temporarily change our behavior but temporary changes will not fix the underlying problem.
Sustained weight loss is definitely possible if you understand how to go about it. Weight loss is not about expensive equipment, special diets, will power or perfection. It takes time, perseverance, persistence, and consistency to lose weight. That is why you do not have to spend a large amount of money to do it. You cannot buy time, persistence, perseverance, and consistency. So close your wallet and let’s lose weight.
