You Are Positively In Control

by Dr. Kal

This is an excerpt of my Free Weight Loss Plan, the Don’t Go Broke Weight Loss Plan.

To lose weight permanently, you must change how you think.  In this post you will learn how to think positively and think your are in control.

Think Positively

When starting a weight loss program, most people think negatively. They do not think they will lose weight or that the weight loss will last.

People also think they will have to start a nutrition plan that prevents them from eating the foods they enjoy.  They also think about having to start an activity plan with boring and overly strenuous activities.

Thinking about weight loss in these terms will simply lead to failure.  You must think positively about weight loss if you are going to be successful at it.

You have to be confident.  You must eliminate your fears, your self doubts, and your insecurities.  You have to think that you can and will lose weight.  You must believe that you have control over your body, your happiness, and your future.

You are going to have to accept and welcome your new lifestyle.  If you view your lifestyle adjustments as burdens, you will not be able to maintain them.

Eating healthy does not mean eliminating all the foods you enjoy.  Exercising does not have to involve activities you hate doing.  You will not and should not eat foods or participate in activities you do not like, regardless of how good for you they are.  You can and will find healthy foods and activities you enjoy.

Do not start The Don’t Go Broke Weight Loss Plan if you think you can not succeed or you think the adjustments you will have to make are unbearable.

Think You Are In Control

Many of you have the self defeating belief that you do not have control over your weight loss.  You blame genetics, your busy life, your lack of money, your non-supportive spouse, your children, your parents, fast food restaurants, or the world for your inability to lose weight.

You will not lose weight if you do not believe you have full control over your life.  Genetics, lack of time, lack of money, and your family did not force you to gain weight and they will not prevent you from losing it.  However, they can be barriers or obstacles.

Obstacles can slow you down, but they will not stop you unless you allow them to.  Once you start to think that you are in control, you will realize that you can easily overcome these barriers.

You must stop blaming your situation, your friends, your parents, and your genetics for your inability to lose weight.  You are the driver of your life, not a passenger.  Take the wheel and go wherever you want to go.

All bad habits, while difficult, can be unlearned.  You can change the way you think and what you do.  Stay positive and believe in yourself.
