Eating healthy is incredibly tricky these days. The tempting, convenient fast food choices can be overwhelming while on the go. Don’t lose hope. By mixing easy recipes with nutritious ingredients, it is possible to have a healthy diet with a fast-paced schedule. For those who are dedicated to eating organic, there are some fabulously healthy, organic meal ideas here to help you out.
Organic Meal Idea #1: Granola and Yogurt Fruit Parfait
Instead of reaching for the sugar cereal and milk while at the supermarket, think again. Something that is just as quick and easy to prepare in the morning, yet far healthier would be a granola and yogurt fruit parfait!
Simply grab a box of your favorite organic granola along with some organic yogurt. Add a few organic blueberries and you’ve got your nutrient-packed, most important meal of the day ready to go!
Organic Meal Idea #2: Grilled Chicken Salad
While a salad may not sound that filling, it really can be if prepared correctly. Adding as many greens to your diet as possible will provide the nutrition and fiber that your body needs in order to function correctly.
Be sure to grab a case of organically raised chicken breasts and organic spinach at the grocery store.
- Throw the chicken on your foreman grill
- Dice up some organic tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers and grapes
- Add some nuts for protein and piece of toast for texture
- Add a cup of organic cottage cheese as dressing
With this recipe you will get the amount of nutrient dense calories you need to keep you going until your next meal.
Organic Meal Idea #3: Broccoli Potato Soup
Organic broccoli potato soup can be prepared in a half hour with only a handful of ingredients. All you need to do is:
- Go to your local health food store and buy some organic nutritional yeast, cashews, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, onions and a few spices.
- Cook the vegetables (minus the broccoli) until soft.
- Add to about two tablespoons of nutritional yeast with ¾ cup of cashews and blend in a blender with a cup of the softened vegetables. This makes the cheesy sauce.
- Steam the broccoli until soft and combine with the sauce and extra vegetables.
- Add a few spices and seasonings such as cumin, salt and pepper to taste.
Children will love the illusion of cheese while you’ll rest easy knowing it’s healthy and organic.
