Don’t Go Broke Foods: Kashi’s Chewy Granola Bars

One of my favorite Don’t Go Broke Diet foods are Kashi’s Chewy Granola Bars. I love them because they taste great, are healthy, and inexpensive. They are also portable and do not require any preparation. I like the Peanut Peanut Butter version the most because they are 20% protein and I like peanut butter.

The first five ingredients are:

  1. Kashi Seven Whole Grain & Sesame Blend
  2. Peanuts
  3. Brown Rice Syrup
  4. Soy Protein Isolate
  5. Soy Grits

I’m not loving the brown rice syrup, but it’s not that bad.

• Fats: 5 grams
• Sugar: 5 grams
• “Bad” Fats: 0.5 grams

Commentary:

This is a nice healthy and inexpensive snack to keep you satisfied until you can get a “real” meal.
