I love to eat organic foods. Not just for the health benefits, but also flavor. I challenge you to buy a regular piece and an organically grown one and see the difference. Its like watching the stars on television and then looking through a telescope. See what I mean? :)

Now, not everyone can afford to eat organic. Its expensive and sometimes even portions are smaller. But the great thing about organic foods is that, because most is made without preservatives, you tend to get fuller faster making potion control easier leading to weight loss.

I am an avid shopping and budget ninja, so I tend to look for coupons and visit all the local stores to see whats the best deal. I have come to find that the regular markets that are geared toward “organic foods” tend to be more expensive then the average grocery store, but the variety is much bigger.

Whole Foods and Earth Fare

In the past the Whole Foods market, though amazing had been pricey, but now they have 365 brand products which are the “ Whole Foods” version of a generic brand.

The 365 brand is amazing, much cheaper without any loss in quality. The Whole Foods also now has coupons and specials when you first enter the store on a rack. This helps you save even more money on the stuff you want and need.

If you really look you will find that the organic versions of the 365 brands are maybe 20 to 50 cents more then regular non organic foods, yet the benefits to your health is worth every penny.

Another amazing place to shop that is affordable is Earth Fare markets. Like the whole foods but sometimes cheaper, they offer a variety of products that are organic and affordable.

Plan or Go Local

A good tip is to also plan your foods for the week. Make a good plan so your budget goes a long way. If something is on special, take advantage and stock up.

Now, visiting a local farmers market is an amazing way to also save money on organic fruits, vegetables and grains. Its a good variety and because its a local market, costs are lower.

Wherever you may live, whatever market you go to, most even popular markets have branched into the organic foods. They have section now in most grocery stores that cater to organic or healthier foods. Look for coupons in your local store to help save even more as well.

Go online for organic products you know you buy regularly, and search for coupons there as well. It helps to store coupons for things you use or buy often like, organic milk, bread and eggs.

Check Out The Freezer

Another way to economize and get the most bang for you buck is, instead of buying all fresh vegetables and fruit, buy organic frozen fruits and veggies instead. They last longer and go a long way. You can put them in smoothies in the morning before your workout, or in you dinner for the night. It will help spread your dollar again without losing quality.

You cant measure the worth of your body and health, but we all have to do what we can afford.
Even if all you can do is convert half of what you buy into organic foods, your still doing your body and you family a world of good that will benefit them for years to come.
